“The grotesque is paralleled with the sublime” ~Carson McCullers
Thank you for stopping by! Feel free to leave a comment.
The purpose of this blog is to coax my desire to write out of hibernation, to discuss and revel in the strange and lovely, and, especially, to explore and share my ongoing experience with fibromyalgia (FM).
I love reading, art, the unexpected, neuropsychology, making jewelry, fruit and vegetables, mutts, strange children, strange music, excitement of most kinds, and mental and emotional intelligence. I write poetry (this is not as terrible as it sounds), and I have a mild addiction to artichokes.
These are my health issues/labels:
Fibromyalgia
also,
dysautonomia, osteoarthritis, mild scoliosis, IBS, migraine headaches, chronic sinusitis, TMJ, bulging discs, asthma, depression, anxiety disorder
Hi there. I just wanted to tell you I was searching for a picture of Carson McCullers and ran across your page. The excerpt you quoted from the Ballad of the Sad Cafe is beautiful. I was reading that story the other day and that exact section just spoke to me in so many ways. I cannot describe how it read my heart. She is amazing. And apparently you and I have similar taste! I just quoted it in my blog. I hope you don’t mind me copying you, but I guess I had intended to quote it sooner or later anyway.
P.S.: I have Fibromyalgia too so we should keep in touch. It is very late right now, so I’ll bookmark your page and get back to you about that later….
Hi! I am a fellow CFS and FM sufferer. I have had these illnesses for almost 20 years now. You are doing a great job on here. I just started a forum recently for CFS, FM and other chronic illness patients. It is at http://www.fightingfatigue.org/forum.
I would love to exchange links with you on my blog. You can take a look at mine by clicking on my username and let me know.
It is so nice to “meet” others who can relate. Take care and keep up the great work you are doing here!
Whoops! That is the wrong blog on my username above! I corrected it on this post. Thanks!
I found your blog looking for some images of shower art on google. I enjoy your writing and will be back.
